Continuing Education Accepted for the Training and Installation DVD's Released by Water Works Industry Solutions
November 9th, 2006
Reno, NV -- Water Works Industry Solutions (WWIS) announced today that Arizona and California recently accepted a new form of continuing education within the waterworks industry. In September 2006, both states accepted the Training and Installation "The Basics" DVD's released by WWIS for Professional Development and Contact Hours. These newly developed DVD's have met the current state mandates for renewal of certificates. Holly Hartzell-Reviglio, Director of Operations, successfully reported, "It is an honor and a privilege to be granted PDH or Contact Hours within these two states allowing WWIS the opportunity to open new doors within the waterworks industry. It is crucial that our next step is to advance into Nevada, Utah and Colorado providing them with the same opportunities. Our goal will be complete once we have pressed towards releasing these continuing education credits nationwide. This is only the beginning. The approval of these DVD's along with the importance of their instructional content allows a unified approach toward the future of the waterworks industry." In conjunction to the approval of the DVD's nationwide, WWIS is vigorously working with states to sanction grants which will allow for rural water facilities to be reimbursed for their training modules.
In accordance with the Department of Health Services, any two DVD lessons shown consecutively over the course of an hour will be granted one contact hour toward continuing education credits. Each DVD has an approximate run time of 25-40 minutes and 28 of the 33 training DVD's have been awarded contact hours in California. For more information on the requirements and regulations for obtaining WWIS DVD's that have been approved for Contact Hours in the state of California, please contact Steve Bogart, Department of Health Services at (916) 449-5615.
