Water Works Industry Solutions Revolutionizes Construction Training
May 31st, 2006
Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas based Water Works Industry Solutions (“WWIS”) announced the release of its much-anticipated new training DVD set: Training and Installation “The Basics”.
WWIS has been developing their comprehensive training DVD series for over two years. “The Basics” was designed by educators and waterworks industry professionals and is a series of DVD lessons created to help supplement and aid in the understanding and safety of the most common waterworks parts, how they are used in the field and their general installations. Each lesson was created in part by following industry associations such as AWWA, Uni-Bell and DIPRA’s standards in conjunction with industry manufacturers for accuracy.
”Collaborating with professionals in the waterworks industry and current laborers, foreman and engineers has been crucial to the development and creation of these training lessons. With their insight we were able to tailor our lessons to cover the basic fundamentals that every laborer is required to know, which helps ensure that proper installation techniques are being practiced,” stated Nick Reviglio, WWIS president and co-founder.
The complete training series covers seven (7) waterworks courses amounting to 33 DVD lessons. Lessons can be purchased individually and cover a range of waterworks installations including, PVC (C-900 and SDR-35), ductile iron, restrainers, tapping sleeves and service line fittings to name a few. “Because the lessons are easy to follow, understand and are in demand we have been asked to translate the lessons into multiple languages just for the U.S…Our first bilingual release will be in Spanish and available for purchase towards the end of Summer 2006,” explained Holly Hartzell-Reviglio, WWIS Director of Operations.
WWIS Marketing Director Shannon Diem stated, “Commitment to educating our nation’s water industry workforce through innovative technologies while saving both financial and natural resources has been our paramount focus over the last two years.” Not only has WWIS focused on up-to-date technologies but they have also recruited a knowledgeable and recognizable face to be their spokesman. 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Kurt Busch is championing this training series. Before becoming a full time professional racecar driver, Busch worked for the Las Vegas Valley Water District as a laborer.
